Is your organization missing one of the biggest cost savings opportunities in healthcare today?

Effectively treating Sleep Apnea will yield a greater than 20% PMPM reduction in the First Year1

Sleep Apnea Prevalence in Common Comorbidities

Members with Untreated vs. Treated Sleep Apnea
are 200% more expensive1

Each year millions of dollars are spent on testing and treatment for sleep apnea, yet just over 1 in 5 of those diagnosed with sleep apnea actually get better. We’re changing that!

Prevalence of Sleep Apnea in Chronic Conditions

Sleep apnea is prevalent in roughly three of four people with healthcare’s most common and expensive conditions.

  • 80% of people suffering from sleep apnea are undiagnosed

  • Diagnosing and initiating sleep apnea treatment costs $2,500-$10,000 per member

  • 22% remain adherent to treatment through the first 12 months

  • 12 continuous months of treatment results in 22%+ PMPM savings

Untreated sleep apnea diminishes the impact of ANY investment to improve the health of members with these high-cost conditions.

Sleep Apnea Treatment Cost Savings

In this newly published study from Mayo Clinic (Apr 2022), patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and comorbid cardiovascular disease (CVD) who were effectively treated for OSA were nearly $4,500 less expensive than those not adherent with their OSA treatment.

The High Cost of Untreated OSA

This University of Maryland study concludes that Medicare patients with untreated OSA demonstrated increased healthcare utilization and costs across all points of service relative to control patients, demonstrated higher total annual costs of $19,566 on average, in fully-adjusted models.
